Estrus Moon

Albany Institute of History & Art, Albany NY

Bronze
60” H x 19” D x 24” W

A young woman, newly pregnant, is partly tree. Her legs merge into tree trunks and a moon can be seen in the branches of the tree; her head shape suggests the full moon. She represents late winter when animals come into estrus.
