TRINA GREENE  sculpture 

These mandalas were created over a series of months. When I began each one, I had no idea in mind as to subject or composition. They arise from the unconscious spontaneously, with no sketching. They are composed from ‘building blocks’ or linear elements repeated over and over.  Spirals, wave-like lines, loops, etc. They are drawn with architect’s pens, and colored if desired, with watercolor pencils and metallic powders in egg tempera. They are framed and some will be printed on silk to hang as scrolls.          - Trina Greene
